Your ultimate guide to peach cocktails

Ah, peaches. These sweet treats are one of the highlights of summer that I look forward to every year! Whether it’s snacking on one while sitting on the porch, making baked peaches, using them in a cobbler or giving my sipper a fruity twist, I make the most of peach season!

Peaches are packed with fruity flavor, which makes them perfect for cocktails of all kinds. Their sweetness translates to tasty drinks that are refreshing on even the hottest day and they compliment all different kinds of booze.

Whether that peachy goodness takes a starring role in a drink all its own or transforms a classic cocktail, these are sure to become some of your favorite summertime sips.

Best peaches for drinks

Do you have a favorite peach? Personally I love a basket of fresh peaches from the farmer’s market. Whatever your favorite peach is, it will work for peachy sippers!

Free stone peaches are the easiest to work with. The flesh of these peaches isn’t attached to the pit, making it easy to remove. You’ll have to work a little harder on the other varieties but they still provide sunny summary flavor! Even nectarines will work, giving your drinks a touch of tang that other varieties of peaches don’t have.

Typically I recommend using fresh ingredients for the most flavorful drinks. The same holds true for these peach delights — your fruit will be perfectly ripe when they are slightly soft when you squeeze to peel and slice. If you have a few that are overripe and too soft to eat, those are ideal for peach simple syrup. When you use fresh peaches, you can also reserve a slice or two to use as a garnish.

In a pinch, or in the off season, you can use frozen peaches to capture the peach flavor. That way you can enjoy one of these sippers anytime the mood strikes.

What to serve with Peach Cocktails

Keep the fruit flavor going by serving up delicacies that are guaranteed crowd pleasers!

Peach salsa with a side of homemade tortilla chips makes for a great appetizer or snack. Add a bowl of pineapple salsa to hit every taste bud!

A bowl of sliced peaches are always a favorite summertime dessert. Add a topping of homemade whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and you’re ready to enjoy. Need something to cool off? Peach popsicles are the way to go!
