About this Peach Sangria Recipe

If you need a show-stopping summer drink, then look no further than peach sangria! I love peach season because this delicious fruit is just juicy, sweet and oh so tasty. I use them in homemade peach lemonade, and baked peaches are a summer dessert MUST have.

Whatever you do, you’ve gotta get the most out of that ripe peach flavor while peaches are in season. It’ll become a yearly thing that you look forward too! This easy peach sangria is just the thing to harness the power of those tasty peaches.

Make a big ol’ pitcher of this the day before your next party, store it in the refrigerator, and then cocktails are prepped a ready to go for your guests. It’s the same reason why I love to make pineapple mango tiki punch — it’s less work for me!

White wine sangria is just as delicious as classic red wine sangria. Especially when you add in loads of fresh fruit, like peaches and berries. You’re going to love this simple recipe!

Why you’ll love this recipe

There is so much to love about this amazing sangria recipe:

  • It only takes a few minutes to make this easy recipe. Spend more time hanging with your guests than making loads of cocktails.
  • You can make this beverage ahead of time and then store it for later. That also makes it great for summer since it’ll get plenty cold in the fridge!
  • This quick beverage is super versatile. The best part about sangria is that you can add pretty much anything to it and it’ll taste delicious.

Tools & glassware

This simple recipe only requires a few basic tools. You’ll need an extra large pitcher to hold the sangria, and a measuring cup to measure out all of the ingredients.

Make sure you’ve got something to juice the lemon and a knife to slice up the fruit. You will also need a large spoon to stir everything together! That’s it!

Ingredients

You only need a few simple ingredients for this white peach sangria. Here’s what you should keep on hand:

  • dry white wine, such as chardonnay
  • peach juice or peach nectar
  • peach schnapps
  • simple syrup
  • lemon juice
  • peach, sliced
  • raspberries
  • lemon, sliced
  • fresh mint, for garnish

Garnishes

Both frozen peaches and fresh peaches are a great garnish!

Even though this recipe calls for fresh sliced lemon, feel free to use a dehydrated lemon slice or candied lemon slice as a garnish on each glass.

Serving your sangria over ice? Make some berry ice cubes or herb ice cubes for a fun garnish.

Best white wine for Peach Sangria

Go for a dry white wine for the best results. I like to use chardonnay or pinot grigio, but you could go with a vinho verde or sauvignon blanc. If you’re not sure what type of white wine to use, then check out my white wine 101 post as a guide to help you choose!

You can also use sparkling wine in sangria if you’d like a bubbly twist!

Substitutions & variations

More peach flavor: For an extra peachy flavor, use peach simple syrup instead of plain. You can also change up the flavor with other syrups like strawberry simple syrup or passion fruit syrup.

Fruit swaps: If you’re not a fan of raspberries, feel free to use strawberries or blueberries instead.

Make this extra boozy: Add some peach vodka, brandy or rum. Orange liqueurs like triple sec or Cointreau would be yummy too.

Tips & tricks

Check out these simple tips to make sure that your peach beverage turns out absolutely tasty:

  • For the best flavor, make sure you chill the drink before serving or serve it over ice. On a hot summer day, you’ll want to wait to serve it over ice so that it doesn’t effect the taste.
  • Use ripe peaches for that perfect level of sweetness. If you don’t have really ripe peaches, then feel free to add more simple syrup.
  • Adding some fizz? Make sure you don’t add it until just before serving so that the bubbles are perfectly crisp!

Food pairings

If you’re looking for some little bites to serve with peach sangria, then try out caprese skewers or a charcuterie board. But this sangria is also perfect to pair with things like popcorn shrimp and apple pecan salad.

Of course, when it’s summertime I’m always in the mood for chips and dip. So white wine sangria is also great with guacamole or cilantro pineapple salsa. I love to pair this peach cocktail with peach desserts like peach crisp or peach hand pies.

FAQ

What is sangria usually made of?

Traditional sangria is made of red wine and chopped fruit. However, from that creation came white wine sangria. You can also make sangria with rosé wine.

Does fruit absorb alcohol in drinks?

Yes! As the fruit sits in the sangria, it will soak in some of the wine to create a little boozy burst of flavor.
