Tools & glassware

To make this drink, you’ll need a high-powered blender and a few other basic kitchen tools. Make sure you have a jigger to measure out the lime juice and simple syrup, and a measuring cup to get the correct amount of ice.

Then you’ll also need some cocktail glasses and anything for a specific garnish that you plan to use.

Ingredients for a lime-flavored beverage: lime juice, ice, and whole limes on a marble surface.

Ingredients

Believe it or not, you can have the perfect virgin frozen daiquiri with just three simple ingredients. Here’s a list of everything that you will need:

  • lime juice: For the best flavor, I recommend using fresh lime juice instead of the bottled stuff. In lieu of lime juice and simple syrup, you can use 1 cup (8 ounces) of margarita mix or sour mix.
  • simple syrup: I love to use homemade simple syrup because it’s so easy to make. You can also use flavored simple syrups in this recipe if you want to add a fun flavor twist.
  • ice cubes
  • lime slices or wedges: Cut a few slices to use as the garnish!

Substitutions & variations

Turn this into a fruity flavor explosion with some fresh or frozen strawberries. Some fresh or frozen mango would also be a tasty addition.

You can also swap the lime juice for fresh pineapple juice and then blend in some fresh or frozen pineapple! Add some coconut simple syrup for a piña colada-like flavor.

There are now non alcoholic rum alternatives hitting the shelves too! Feel free to mix some of that into this recipe for an even more authentic flavor. I’ve got a post with all the info you’ll need to know about non-alcoholic spirits.

Tips & tricks

With a few simple tips, you can make this virgin daiquiri taste perfect and have the best smooth and slushy texture:

  • If your frozen daiquiri is too thick, then add a little water or some extra lime juice until it reaches the right consistency. If it’s too thick, then add some extra ice until it thickens up.
  • To give this a real cocktail feel, make sure you add a fun garnish. A lime twist is fancy and fun, but a simple lime wedge or dehydrated lime slice will work too!
  • For best results, serve your frozen daiquiri mixture immediately. The longer it sits, the more the ice in the mixture will melt and will water down your drink.

What to Serve with a Frozen Virgin Daiquiri

Serve this citrusy slushy with tasty treats like caprese skewers, a charcuterie board or some pita chips with whipped feta dip.

For a quick bite for guests at a party, serve things like cucumber sandwiches or marinated cheese.

This classy mocktail even goes well with sweet treats like lemony madeleines or gingery moscow mule cookies.

FAQ

What is a mocktail cocktail?

A mocktail is any mixed drink recipe, or cocktail, with the alcohol omitted. Mocktails mimic the flavors in classic cocktails but contain none of the liquor!

Are daiquiris only frozen?

Nope! In fact, a traditional daiquiri is actually served straight-up or on the rocks. However, frozen daiquiris have increased in popularity and are a common cocktail you can find at most bars.

In lieu of lime juice and simple syrup, you can use 1 cup (8 ounces) of margarita mix or sour mix.
To make simple syrup, blend ¼ cup sugar and ¼ cup water until dissolved before adding the other ingredients.
Add more ice for a thicker daiquiri. If your mixture is too thick and your blender gets stuck, then add a splash of water to thin it out.
