Mocktails don’t have to be boring! Here are 12 mocktail recipes for summer to serve whenever a booze-free drink is desired.
The first rule of planning a menu for a party is to make sure you have refreshments that all your guests can enjoy. That adage also holds true for cocktails. Today I’m sharing 12 mocktail recipes for summer!
Mocktails are the virgin versions of cocktails. Because they’re sans liquor, these virgin beverages can be healthier and less expensive than their boozy counterparts. They can still be tasty, however!
Most cocktail recipes that have three or more ingredients have a mocktail cousin. Here’s how to modify 12 of my cocktail posts into non-alcoholic drinks that are perfect for the summer months.
Serve them to non-drinkers or minors, or enjoy one yourself! What’s your favorite mocktail? // susannah

Dark + Stormy Mocktail
In the non-alcoholic version of my favorite summer cocktail, the Dark + Stormy, substitute 1/2 teaspoon of blackstrap molasses for the dark rum. Stir molasses and lime juice together and top with ice and ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Virgin Lemon-Lime Mojitos
To make my favorite Lemon-Lime Mojito recipe non-alcoholic, muddle the mint with the lemon juice. Substitute 2 cups limeade for the sugar and lime juice. Omit the rum and top with club soda. Garnish with a lime.
Sparkling Lavender Cocktail
Easily one of my favorite inventions for this blog, the Lavender Champagne Cocktail can be non-alcoholic too. Substitute sparkling lemonade, cider or white grape juice to yield the same bubbly effect as champagne or prosecco.
Moscow Mule Mocktail
To make a mocktail version of the Moscow Mule, simply omit the vodka. The ginger beer and lime are very flavorful on their own.
Non-Alcoholic French 75
Cut the vodka and sub in sparkling lemonade for champagne to make this French 75 mocktail, a 20th century classic.
Non-Alcoholic Strawberry Lemonade Shandies
A typical shandy combines lemonade with a light-colored beer. For a virgin Strawberry Lemonade Shandy, substitute non-alcoholic beer or ginger beer.
Strawberry Basil Infused Water
Fusion waters are, perhaps, the easiest mocktail of all. Leave some fruit and herbs in a pitcher of water for a few hours. One of my favorites is this Strawberry Basil Infused Water.
Michelada Mocktail
To make a non-alcoholic version of the Michelada a beer cocktail, you’ve got two options. Either substitute non-alcoholic beer or omit the beer altogether for a spicier tomato juice. The spicy salted rim and lime wedge will make this one seem more exotic than it is.
Cheerwine Mocktail
Omit the vodka for a dressed-down version of the Cheerwine Cocktail. Served with a cute straw and a lime wedge, this mocktail will resemble carbonated cherry limeade in taste.
Blueberry Ginger Smash
Reach for the ginger ale and skip the rum in this Blueberry Rum Smash for a sweet and spicy summer libation.
Classic Mockarita
For a virgin twist on the Classic Margarita, mix the juice of half a lime, a splash of orange juice and 1/2 cup of limeade. Serve on the rocks or blend with 1 cup of ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Virgin Black-Eyed Susan
Pineapple juice, orange juice and lime juice come together in this mocktail version of the Black-Eyed Susan to create a bright, fruity beverage.
