Prosecco Punch Recipe
I’ve always felt that cocktails are a labor of love. Of course you can go out and get something fancy at the bar, but you can do it at home too. And nothing shows you care more than a delicious cocktail made with your own two hands.
This prosecco punch recipe is one of my favorites since I can make a large pitcher all at once. That makes it just perfect for brunch or holiday parties any time of year. It’s also become a favorite at New Year’s Eve celebrations since it’s so bubbly and refreshing!
I love that I can make the citrus base of this recipe ahead of time and top it with some bubbly just before serving. It’s got grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime, and it’s this beautiful bright yellow-orange color.
If you’re a fan of classic mimosas, then you’ll love this bubbly prosecco cocktail. This adult beverage is loaded with delicious flavors that are great for anything from Christmas cocktails to a drink during the heat of summer.

Why you’ll love this recipe
This bright and festive cocktail is a favorite for so many different reasons:
- Let’s be honest, citrus cocktails are a great way to dress up a cheap bottle of Italian sparkling wine. However, you can also use nice bottles of prosecco! This easy recipe can really be whatever you want to make it — if affordable is your goal, this is a great recipe to dress up an affordable bottle of prosecco.
- Batch-made drinks like this prosecco punch recipe are a great way to keep you from having to stand at the bar all evening. If you want to mingle at your next party, mix up a batch of two of this beverage.
- This is the perfect drink to use fresh fruit in as a beautiful garnish, extra flavor, and even a way to keep your drink cold. There’s tons of fun ways to dress up each glass.
Tools & glassware
To make this easy recipe, you’ll need a few different tools. Make sure that you have measuring cups and spoons to measure out each ingredient called for in this recipe. You’ll also need a large pitcher or a large punch bowl with a ladle.
While you can serve this beverage in champagne flutes, I prefer to serve it in lowball glasses or coupe glasses. However, if you use flutes or coupe glasses you will not need to add ice.

You only need a few simple ingredients to make this recipe. Most grocery stores will have what you need. Here’s what to add to your list:
- grapefruit juice
- orange juice
- sour mix
- vodka
- simple syrup
- bottle of prosecco
- ice
- citrus slices, for garnish
Substitutions & variations
While this recipe calls for grapefruit juice and orange juice, you can add or swap many different citrus juices. Mango juice, pineapple juice, and cranberry juice would all be great substitutes. You could even mix in some white grape juice or pomegranate juice if you really wanted to change up the flavor profile.
Plain simple syrup is all that is needed to add that sweet flavor, but you can use a flavored syrup if you want. Something like peach simple syrup or cranberry syrup would add tasty fruit flavor. Or, you could change up the flavor with herbal syrups like mint simple syrup or basil simple syrup. Honey simple syrup would also be tasty!
For an extra fun and pretty garnish, use candied orange slices or candied lemon slices. Dehydrated orange slices are also my go-to!
How to Make Prosecco Punch
Follow this simple step-by-step guide to make the best grapefruit orange lemonade party punch:
Add the grapefruit juice, orange juice, lemon and lime juice into a large mixing bowl. If you make fresh juice, be sure that you strain out all of the pulp before mixing them together!
Then stir the simple syrup into the citrus juices. If the mixture is too tart, add more syrup ¼ cup at a time.
Put the mixture in the refrigerator to chill for at least one hour.
Just before serving, transfer the sweet fruit juice mixture to a large punch bowl or pitcher. Add the prosecco and then garnish the drink with citrus slices.
When you are ready to serve, add 3-4 ice cubes to a glass and then fill with punch. If desired, top with more prosecco. Garnish with citrus and rosemary and serve!
What to Serve with Prosecco Punch
I love to serve easy cocktails with bite-sized appetizers at parties! These cranberry brie bites would be perfect with a glass of citrus punch, and so would bacon wrapped dates. Bacon fig and goat cheese crostini are great if you’d like something a little more fancy.
Creamy appetizers like whipped feta dip and baked brie are always a hit too!
If you’re serving this prosecco punch with brunch, recipes like golden waffles, cinnamon sugar donuts, shakshuka eggs benedict, and lemon ricotta pancakes would be just perfect.
Tips & tricks
Check out these simple tips and trick to make sure that your punch packs a punch:
- Make sure to use prosecco that has chilled well! Mixing in room temperature prosecco will make the drink a weird temperature and that can mess with the flavor profile and the texture of the bubbles.
- Do not add the sparkling white wine to the punch until just before serving. This will ensure fresh bubbles that are crisp and inviting!
- Don’t want to water down the glasses with melting ice? Then freeze fresh berries like fresh strawberries or fresh raspberries. Then use them as the “ice” to keep each glass cold!
Leftover prosecco? Use it to make this delicious Rossini cocktail.
FAQ
Citrus juices like cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, and grapefruit juice pair best with crisp and bubbly prosecco. Fresh fruit and fresh berries also go well with it too!
While the two are similar, they are not the same. Real champagne can only be made with grapes from Champagne, Italy. But prosecco is more than just “cheap champagne”. It has a very extensive and specific production process and has a beautiful light and bright flavor. This is why it is often used as a more affordable substitute to champagne.

Hi Mary! I used OXO’s Xs and Os Ice Cube Tray. I recommend filling them with hot water before freezing so you get clearer ice cubes.
