Don’t be intimidated by this list, because Mixed Berry Sangria comes together in a snap! There are two spirits in this drink: vodka and rosé wine. (If you need help selecting the right rosé, keep reading.)
Instead of juice that you’d find in a typical sangria, mixed berry syrup offers both sweetness and flavor, balanced out by a splash of bright lemon juice.
When it comes to berries, this is where you can be flexible. I chose to use strawberries, blackberries and raspberries for a patriotic vibe fit for Memorial Day or Fourth of July, but you can use whatever is in your fridge.
Club soda gives you bubbles that add to the refreshment of the drink. If you’re making it ahead, you’ll want to wait until the last minute to add it so it doesn’t fall flat. Garnish with a mint sprig or two and you’re ready to enjoy!
Best rosé for sangria
Rosé is a stunner in both color and flavor, with both sweet and dry options. Just like in strawberry rosé sangria I recommend you go with a dry rosé and sweeten to taste, giving you more control of the final drink. Sparkling rosé works but will go flat and can taste a bit carbonated, so I would steer clear for this recipe.
White wine or red wine are both great swaps depending on your taste — just keep it on the drier side so you can adjust the sweetness yourself. Chill your rosé for at least two hours before mixing it into this sangria. Making sure it’s cold preserves the fresh flavor of the fruit!
Instructions
Grab your pitcher and get to mixing! This drink is begging for some summer fun.

- First, work on your mixed berry syrup. Add berries and water to a saucepan and simmer over medium heat.
- After your syrup has simmered for 15 minutes, strain out the berries and stir in the sugar until it’s dissolved. Cool before using.
Syrup storage. The syrup will keep in the fridge for about two weeks.

- Add in your fruit and start adding the liquids on top.
- Pour the wine, the vodka, mixed berry syrup and lemon juice.

- Stir gently to combine. Chill for a few hours or until you’re ready to get the party started.
- Two options for serving: Finish it in the glasses or the pitcher. Top with club soda, add fresh mint and more berries.

Tips & tricks
- Sparkling rosé can be used, but it will go flat and taste slightly carbonated, so it’s not the top pick.
- You can make the berry syrup up to a week ahead and keep it in the fridge, so you’re ready to mix day-of.
- Store leftover sangria (without club soda) covered in the pitcher in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Serving suggestions
When it comes to Mixed Berry Sangria, consider the occasion when it comes to how you serve it. If it will be sitting out over a period of time, omit the club soda from the pitcher and instead add it to individual glasses so it doesn’t fall flat. You can add berry ice cubes for a decorative touch that gives a nod to the flavors of the drink.
If you want everyone to be able to enjoy a sip, use an alcohol-free rosé wine and zero-proof vodka. It will still be deliciously drinkable!
Since this drink is practically made for summer weather, pair it with snacks that can stand the heat. Avocado salsa is cool, creamy but packs just the right amount of spice. Traditional cookout fare, like burgers or brats, would be equally tasty. Add in mini strawberry shortcakes (no baking required) for a sweet treat to finish the night.

FAQ
Yes! You can make the mixed berry syrup up to a week ahead and keep it in the fridge, which will give you more flexibility in making your sangria. Plan accordingly and mix your ingredients with at least 1-2 hours to chill before serving — just make sure you hold off on the club soda until you’re ready to serve.
If you skip adding the club soda to the sangria, you can store the leftovers covered in the pitcher in the fridge for up to 2 days.
