Summertime, you are so close! I can almost taste it.

The weather has been warming up, and I am here for it.

Maybe it’s just because I’ve been enjoying more outside time, but working up a sweat in the garden just feels so… nice.

(A younger me would be shocked at my willingness to be out of doors.)

I am very much looking forward to some pool days. Hopefully soon?

My most popular post, summer after summer, are alcoholic gummy bears.

They are gummy bears that have been soaked in your booze of choice, preferably rum or vodka.

You can also make champagne gummy bears!

Which means you can use wine, and today I’m showing you how to make rosé wine gummy bears. Yes way, rosé!

HOW TO MAKE ROSÉ GUMMY BEARS

Never had drunken gummy bears? They are a super easy, boozy snack.

Personally I like sharing a batch with friends on a day spent at the pool or at the beach.

And they’re ridiculously easy! Here’s how you make them with rosé wine:

Step 1: Buy gummy candy.

Step 2: Add your choice of alcohol.

Step 3: Wait patiently (12 to 24 hours).

Step 4: Eat!

Seriously, that’s it. It really couldn’t be more simple.

Because Rosé Gummy Bears are so easy to make and customize, you can make as big or small of a batch as you want.

You can make a big batch for a big backyard barbecue or just a small one for game night with a few pals.

Rosé all day, if you want! (Responsibly, of course.)

If you love rosé, you will have probably tried it in rosé wine granita or watermelon frosé. And now you have another recipe to add to your repertoire!

What kind of wine should I buy?

You’re going to want to buy a rosé wine. That’s the wine with a blush, rosy, pink color.

Its taste is bright and fruity, fresh and crisp. If you’ve never tried it, it’s a great summer sipper. (But also, where have you been?!

Rosé gets its pink color by only being in contact with red grape skins for a few days before fermenting. (Red wine sits with red grape skins for a lot longer.)

White Zinfandel is an incredibly sweet rosé wine, and if you want a super sweet batch of gummy bears, this is a great choice.

If you prefer your sweets on the, er, less sweet side, go for a drier rosé wine. It will complement the sugary candies and give you more balance.

What kind of gummy bears?

You can use any shape — bears, fruits, even worms!

You could use any flavor gummy bears, but I would suggest going with flavors that most often show up in the flavor notes and varietals of rosé: strawberry, raspberry, watermelon, citrus.

I went with pink grapefruit gummy bears and red strawberry gummy bears.

I like that they honor the pretty rosé color, and complement the sweet, fruity flavors of rosé.

Making Rosé Wine Gummy Bears

For making your boozy rosé gummy bears, you will need a glass food storage container or a glass mixing bowl with lid.

The bears will need to sit in the wine for at least a few hours. The longer they sit, the more alcohol they soak up. They become bloated and slimy.

I prefer them to sit around 6-8 hours because I like mine to still have some texture and be less slimy. But that’s just me!

If you let them sit closer to 12-14, they will be gooier and you will need to serve them with spoons or toothpicks.

If you love rosé, you’ll be saying s’ils vous plait to more of these boozy gummies. I hope you enjoy this treat this summer! // susannah
