Vodka Gummy Bears are the easiest boozy treat you’ll ever make. They’re perfect for poolside snacking or bachelorette getaways. Customize them with your favorite flavored vodka for a fun twist!
At the risk of sounding like a basic white girl here, I need to say: Vodka Gummy Bears are a real and wonderful thing.
If you’ve never had Vodka Gummy Bears, they are exactly what they sound like: just gummy bears soaked in your favorite vodka.
The gummy bears soak up the alcohol and become similar to, but even more fun to eat than, jell-o shots.
They’re boozy and fruity, and so fun to snack on any time of the year! I love making them for a bachelorette party or for snacking on by the pool in the summertime.
They go down easy, so pace yourself!
HOW TO MAKE VODKA GUMMY BEARS
Never had Vodka Gummy Bears? You must try them. And they’re super simple to make. HOW simple?
Step 1: Buy gummy candy.
Step 2: Add your favorite plain or flavored vodka.
Step 3: Wait patiently (12 to 24 hours).
Step 4: Eat!
Seriously, that’s it. It really couldn’t be more simple.
And because Vodka Gummy Bears are so easy to make and customize, you can make as big or small of a batch as you want. Make them for a big party or just for a weekend Netflix binge-session with your girlfriends.
VODKA SOAKED GUMMIES
You don’t have to limit your alcohol gummies to just bears, though. You can have vodka-soaked gummy worms or dinosaurs or whatever. Any gummy candy will work!
My favorite are the Haribo gummy bears — they always remind me of studying abroad in Europe.
I’ve even seen seasonal shapes and colors, such as Christmas tree gummies or red, white and blue gummies, that would be perfect for holiday parties!
Soak gummies in vodka for anywhere from 12 to 24 hours — they will only grow in size and soften a bit more the longer you soak them. I prefer mine on the 12 hour side, so that they’re still a bit chewy.
You can toss all of your gummies-of-choice into one big bowl together.
Or, if you’re a weirdo like me who likes to eat colored candies in a certain order, you can separate them out before soaking them. (Tell me I’m not the only one?)
VODKA SOAKED GUMMY BEARS
I like to make big batches of Vodka Gummy Bears when one of my friends has a bachelorette party. I will soak them in the bride’s favorite flavor of vodka, but you can go for any flavor you like best — or stick with plain vodka.
The gummies get bloated and puffy when they soak up the alcohol — all the better for a boozy treat. They can get sticky, so serve them with a spoon or toothpicks!
(Although I find spoons to be a bit safer than toothpicks when alcohol is involved…)
You could even try different flavors of liquor in your Vodka Gummy Bears based on their color! A few ideas:
- Sour apple vodka on the green gummy bears
- Raspberry vodka on the red bears
- Limoncello on the yellow bears
- Coconut vodka on the white bears
- Orange or vanilla vodka on the orange bears
If you don’t like vodka, you can always swap it out for your favorite alcohol — such as rum or even tequila — for drunken gummy bears.
Rum gummy bears are my personal favorite, but I also think champagne gummy bears are super fun for a sparkling option.
And if you like rosé wine, you can use that to make rosé wine gummy bears.
The point of a treat like this is it’s supposed to be fun! So experiment and see what you like.
Get creative with gummy shapes, colors and alcohol flavors to match a specific event, or just make them for a poolside snack.
Either way, you really can’t go wrong.
Happy weekend! // susannah
