Whiskey & Coke Gummies are a tasty and boozy snack for enjoying all year long, whether you’re by the pool or a campfire. Infuse bourbon with cola-flavored gummy candy for a day or two for a shareable treat.

One of my favorite indulgences is a bag of gummy bears. They’re so chewy and fun to share with friends.

But whenever I’m shopping in the candy aisle, I’m always intrigued by the other flavors (and shapes) of gummy candy. Peach pieces, watermelon slices, cherries… there are so many to choose from!

Then I tried Haribo’s Happy Cola gummies and fell in love. Their coke-flavored gummies might be one of my new favorite candies.

I just knew they were a perfect candidate to infuse with booze, similar to drunken gummy bears.

What are cola gummies?

Cola gummies are soda-bottle-shaped gummy candies that taste like cola.

If you are a fan of soda, you will find the flavor is very similar. The texture of these gummies is also familiar, as if they were coke gummy bears without the bear shape.

These candies are made with cola extract and a pinch of citric acid, which gives these Coca-Cola gummies a hint of pleasant lime flavor.

Where to buy cola gummies

The Haribo-brand cola gummies can be found at most grocery stores in the candy aisle. They are also available on Amazon.

How to make whiskey cola gummies

Whiskey and cola gummies are like boozy gummy bears.

If you’ve never had drunken gummy bears, they are simply gummy bears soaked in alcohol. The gummy bears soak up the booze and become similar to jell-o shots.

Alcohol-soaked gummies are super easy to make.

  1. To make these whiskey and coke gummies, simply toss your gummies into a glass bowl or jar.
  2. Top with your favorite booze.
  3. Cover with a lid or plastic wrap.*
  4. Wait a day or two until the alcohol has been soaked up by the gummies.
  5. Voilà!

*I am obsessed with my ChicWrap plastic wrap. The refillable box is so cute on my counter, but I also love how easy it is to get the plastic wrap out one-handed without it tangling.

How long to soak the gummies in alcohol

At a minimum, you’ll want to soak them for 6-8 hours, or they won’t soak up enough alcohol or be boozy enough.

At the most, you’ll want to soak them for 48 hours. Otherwise, the gummies will begin to break down and dissolve. They will also start to lose their shapes and details.

I recommend stirring them once or twice a day during the soak time so they don’t stick together.

What kind of whiskey for boozy cola gummies

You can use your favorite kind of whiskey for your whiskey-infused cola gummies. Check out my whiskey 101 guide to help you figure out a favorite.

I will say: I wouldn’t suggest using your prized, most expensive bottle, but most of the common brands of whiskey would be perfect for this recipe.

For example, fans of Jack & Coke could easily make these into Jack & Coke gummies by infusing cola gummies in Jack Daniels brand of whiskey.

Or, if you’re a Crown Royal lover, you can make Crown & Coke gummies with their Canadian whiskey.

Alcohol-infused cola gummies

Fear not — you don’t have to use whiskey! Feel free to make your cola gummies your own with different spirits.

Try replacing the whiskey in my recipe 1:1 with one of the options below to make one of these combinations:

  • Use gin to make gin and coke gummies.
  • Try vodka to make them taste like vodka and coke gummies.
  • Go for tequila for tequila and coke gummies.
  • You could also use rum or spiced rum to make rum and coke gummies. They will taste like a Cuba libre cocktail. Since the gummies have a slight lime flavor already, this combination would work really well.

Next time you’re in search of a boozy, shareable treat, I hope you love these whiskey and coke gummies as I do! //susannah
