With crisp champagne bubbles and tart cranberry juice, this has quickly become one of my signature drinks around the holidays. It’s not too sweet and is instead light and refreshing.
It’s essentially a twist on my popular poinsettia drink! This white Christmas mimosa just uses white cranberry juice instead of regular cranberry juice. If you’re typically not a fan of the tart flavor of cranberries, then you’ll probably like this mimosa recipe.
White cranberry juice is less tart than red, making this a touch more sweet. It’s still perfectly festive and fun to serve at all of your gatherings during the Christmas season. I know you’re just going to love it!

Substitutions & variations

My favorite orange liqueur in Cointreau, but you can use anything! I’ve even got a guide that tells you everything you need to know about orange liqueur so that you can choose the best ingredients for your drinks.
Can’t find white cranberry juice? You can sub in white grape juice! It will obviously make the flavor slightly different but it will still be just delicious. (No one has to know!)
You can change up the rim and garnish for your Christmas mimosas too. I use maple syrup and cinnamon sugar, but there’s so many garnish ideas for holiday drinks. Some sparkly sugared cranberries would be a fabulous addition.
For a virgin mimosa, you can skip the orange liqueur altogether. Instead of alcoholic champagne, use a non-alcoholic sparkling apple cider, ginger beer, club soda or ginger ale.
How to make Christmas Mimosas
If you know how to make a traditional mimosa, then you’ll know how to make these holiday mimosas. But here’s a step by step guide to help you out just in case:
Begin by rimming each glass. I’ve got a whole post with tips on how to rim a glass, but here’s a quick how-to.
Add maple syrup to a shallow dish and dip each glass into the sticky sweet syrup. Allow excess to drip off, then dip the rim of the glass into cinnamon sugar in a shallow dish.
Pour the white cranberry juice into the champagne flute and then add the triple sec.
Pop open the champagne and slowly pour it into the glasses. Let the bubbles go down and add more champagne if needed.
Fill each glass until there is only about ½-inch of empty glass space left.
Add a garnish of cranberries and a sprig of rosemary to finish off the drink.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Tips & tricks
Everyone could use a second set of eyes during holiday festivities, right? Well let me be that for you! Here’s a few tips to make sure your easy mimosas turn out perfectly.
- Always chill your champagne before using it in a mimosa recipe. It will make the flavor of each cocktail so much better and the drink will be much more refreshing!
- To keep your Christmas mimosas cold, add frozen cranberries to each glass. They will act as a garnish and won’t water down your drink like an ice cube would.
- Do you know ahead of time that you are going to have a lot of party guests? Prefill the champagne glasses with cranberry juice and triple sec! Then all you’ll have to do is top them with champagne as people are ready to enjoy a drink.
What to serve with Christmas Mimosas
These yummy mimosas would be absolute perfection served alongside a Christmas charcuterie board. Or you can keep with the cranberry theme and serve mini cranberry apple casseroles.
I love to make DIY Christmas popcorn tins around the holidays too, and that would just be so tasty with these mimosas.
For bite sized appetizers at a party, serve these mimosas with marinated cheese or bacon fig and goat cheese crostini.
White cranberry mimosas are a lovely addition to a Christmas morning breakfast too! Make some special mini pancakes, luscious salmon spinach quiche, spiced shakshuka eggs benedict or a big batch of hash brown breakfast casserole to serve with this refreshing drink!
FAQ
While I prefer to make this drink one by one, you can make a large batch all at once if you prefer! Add up however many servings that you’d like, then pour that amount of each liquid into a large pitcher. Stir together, and serve when ready. But don’t add the champagne to the pitcher until you are ready to serve immediately!
Mimosas turn out best when you use a dry champagne or a dry sparkling wine. Some people love to use a bottle of prosecco in their mimosas! However, if you do not like dry wine it is totally ok to use something more sweet. You cocktails will still be so tasty!
