Candy Corn Vodka
Love it or hate it, candy corn season is here, and this Candy Corn Vodka is here to prove it.
Candy corn is one of the top-selling Halloween candies in the nation, but those little neon-striped pyramids can divide a crowd in a heartbeat.
Even though it comes in various color schemes for other holidays, Halloween is the perfect time to indulge in candy corn cocktails.
You can make your favorite drinks taste like candy corn with homemade Candy Corn Vodka. It’s so easy to make!
Why you’ll love this recipe
- Candy corn vodka is versatile. You can use it in candy corn cocktails and jello shots or simply enjoy it as a shooter.
- It is easy to make. You need a jar, a strainer and a little time to make it happen.
- Its orange color makes it the perfect spirit for Halloween.
Serve it at adult Halloween parties or any occasion throughout October.
Candy Corn Vodka would also be the perfect Hocus Pocus-esque hostess gift for the friend who throws the best Halloween parties. (Though it might be a good idea to find out her opinion on candy corn first!)

Ingredients
Here’s what you need to make this homemade candy corn vodka:
Vodka
You can use any clear vodka in this recipe. As I always say, use the best you can afford — my go-to advice for anything with drink mixing.
A 750-ml bottle that’s around $12-20 should be a decent quality for this. You don’t need to use an expensive vodka here since we’ll be masking the flavor with candy.
In my Vodka 101 post, I’ll tell you how to pick out a bottle of vodka. My go-to brands right now are Tito’s, Deep Eddy and Absolut.
The candy corn is sweet enough to flavor the vodka, but you can also use a flavored vodka that has sugar added to make a sweeter, more sip-able version. Try cake vodka, whipped cream vodka or vanilla vodka.

Candy Corn candy
Pick up a bag of your favorite candy corn. I’ve always liked Brach’s brand. Did you know you can even make your own candy corn?
Make sure it’s the kind that is yellow, orange and white. There is a Thanksgiving version of candy corn with a brown stripe, and that will affect the color.
Unless you’re game for cutting off all the stems, I would also stay away from the candy corn pumpkins because the green color of the stems will affect the color.

How to make candy corn infused vodka
But you might be surprised to learn you can also drink your candy corn.
Oh yes, Candy Corn Vodka is here to help you toast to Halloween this year.
This pumpkin-colored spirit is a cinch to make. Here’s how to do it:
- Toss candy corn and vodka into a jar or bowl.
- Let it sit for a while with vodka and…
Boom! Now you have Candy Corn Vodka.

Variations on candy corn vodka
There are lots of ways to mix up this recipe to make it your own.
Sweeter candy corn vodka: For a sweeter version, use cake vodka, whipped cream vodka or vanilla vodka. Or you can mix in ¼ cup of simple syrup to sweeten it.
Quick candy corn vodka: If you’re in a pinch, you can skip the infusion altogether. Use plain or vanilla vodka and add 2-3 drops of each red and yellow food coloring to achieve a similar look, though it will lack that special candy corn flavor.
Candy corn rum: Feel free to sub out the vodka for a clear moonshine or silver rum that you can use to mix into cocktails. I bet candy corn rum or candy corn moonshine would be really delicious and fun!
Three colors of candy corn vodka: If you’d like to have yellow and white versions as well, you can cut your candy corn and separate the colors. Then infuse each color separately in different jars. This will be a little more time consuming to cut each candy, but the result will be super fun, especially if you want to make layered candy corn jello shots with unflavored gelatin.

Candy corn cocktails
If you’re hosting a Halloween party, you could easily whip up a few batches of this Candy Corn Vodka recipe to serve to your guests.
You can use it in a Candy Corn Martini, which layers candy corn vodka with pineapple juice and heavy cream, and it looks just like a candy corn cocktail.
This Candy Corn vodka soda calls for a candy corn simple syrup, but you could just use plain simple syrup and your candy corn vodka for a similar effect.
A Candy Corn Moscow Mule would also be pretty delicious. Mix your candy corn vodka with lime juice and your favorite ginger beer for a seasonal Moscow mule.
But it’s also sweet enough to sip over ice or even enjoy as a shooter. (Just make sure you brush your teeth afterward!)

Candy corn dessert recipes
If you’re a candy corn fanatic, you might be in search of candy corn treats to enjoy with your candy corn cocktails. What else are you going to do with that leftover candy corn?!
You’re in luck, because there’s a lot out there! All of these would go perfectly with a dessert table filled with candy corn oreo truffles, candy corn caramel popcorn and Halloween rice krispy treats.

More Halloween cocktails
You can definitely have fun with the drink menu at a Halloween party.
Love the candy theme? Try a Tootsie Roll cocktail (it’s shot form is fun too) or even Skittles-infused vodka, especially if you add a cube of dry ice for some witchy fun.
A cocktail of Vodka Gummy Worms or spooky Glow-in-the-Dark Jello Shots would make a lasting impression too.
This Harry Potter-inspired Boozy Butterbeer is perfect for witchy themed parties along with this Black magic cocktail, which uses black vodka and this color-changing Witches Brew cocktail.
