Your ultimate guide to pomegranate drinks

The holiday season is not the time to shy away from flavor (or color for that matter). After all, with festive dinners, traditional dishes and plenty of sweet treats to compete with, you don’t want your drinks to fade into the background.

Sweet-tart flavors sing in these cocktails and mocktails starring pomegranates. Add in the ruby red color that’s perfect for the season and you’ve got drinks for any occasion that arises.

Quick tips for hosting

Holiday celebrations can get hectic. Not to worry, there are a few things you can do to make things more simple:

  1. Batch your drinks. Outside of a true big batch drink, like a punch or sangria, that have a serving size already meant for a group, you can multiply any drink that fits the celebration. It’s best to choose a drink that doesn’t require a lot of immediate actions, like muddling. Then, it’s as simple as multiplying the ingredients by whatever amount you need, then converting to cups for easy measuring. When you visit the recipe card on any recipe on this site, use the +/- buttons at the top of any recipe card to scale the recipe as you need to.
  2. Set up a drink station. Get yourself out from behind the bar and give your guests an engaging experience with a drink station that allows them to mix their own sipper. Place out all the ingredients, plus a sign that provides the recipe, and you’re all set!
  3. Consider your crowd. If you’ll be hosting a group that’s mostly non-drinkers, make sure you have a mocktail on the menu so they have something to enjoy too!

What goes with pomegranate

When it comes to pomegranate, it plays nicely with so many flavors! Team it up with citrus to bring out the tart notes. Opt for a touch more sweetness with additional fruit juice or simple syrup.

In terms of booze, there is plenty of this list that’s enjoyable without alcohol. If you need something stronger, there’s a little something for everyone. Pomegranate is strong enough to stand up to bourbon, tequila or gin. You can even use some bubbly, or vodka (which doesn’t change the flavors of the drink).

Try a few different drinks and see what you like best!
