Lemonade Sorbet Float // Feast + West

As promised, here’s today’s second Friday Night Delight!

The Lemonade Sorbet Float is one of my go-to recipes for parties, especially if I’m on a budget. This little cocktail really knows how to put on a show.

It’s so simple and inexpensive to make, but people always rave about how posh it is. Perhaps it’s the sorbet? Or maybe it’s the martini glass?

In addition to the sorbet, all you’ll need for this cocktail is vodka, lemonade and club soda — these ingredients definitely won’t break the bank.

You could easily substitute tequila, rum, gin or champagne/sparking wine, too. (I have done all of those, in fact! Omit the club soda if you use bubbly, of course.)

About the sorbet: The sorbet adds flavor to the lemonade, so it’s important to select a complementary flavor.

I made these with blackberry and blood orange sorbets, but anything fruity will work, especially berries and citrus flavors.

If you are trying to be a bit on the healthy side but still want to treat yourself, then try making it with ginger beet sorbet.

And because each drink requires just one scoop of sorbet, a pint will go a long way. The sorbet makes this a perfect drink for warmer temperatures, too.

Want to some more boozy frozen treats? Try my margarita granita, rosé wine granita or even my cranberry bourbon granita.

Have a great weekend, y’all! // susannah

ingredients

  • 1 scoop sorbet any fruit flavor (berries and citrus work well)
  • ounce vodka
  • 3 ounces lemonade
  • 1 ounce club soda

instructions

  • Place 1 large scoop of sorbet into the bottom of a martini glass *. Work quickly so as not to melt the sorbet too much.
  • Pour vodka on top, to soak up a little of the sorbet's flavor. Then, pour the lemonade over top, then add a splash of club soda. The bubbles of the club soda will cause the sorbet to float. Serve immediately.
