This blueberry margarita is a vibrant twist on a classic — built on a homemade blueberry syrup that's sweet, bold and just tart enough to balance the tequila and lime.
In a saucepan, combine blueberries and water. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15 minutes, until the water has reduced by half.
1 cup blueberries, 2 cups water
Strain out the blueberries. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Let cool completely before using.
1 cup sugar

Notes
Tequila: Blanco works great for a bright, clean flavor. Reposado adds a little warmth and depth if you want something slightly richer.Rim: Sugar is the sweeter, fruitier choice and pairs beautifully with the blueberry. Salt works too if you prefer a more classic margarita vibe.Lime juice: Always use fresh — bottled lime juice won't give you the same bright, tart flavor.Make-ahead: The blueberry syrup can be made up to 2 weeks in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.Frozen variation: To make a frozen blueberry margarita, add all ingredients to a blender with 1 cup of ice and blend until smooth.
