With this delicious recipe, you can make a classic banana daiquiri in no time. It's like drinking all the lovely flavors of banana bread in a boozy tropical cocktail!
First make the syrup. In a saucepan over medium heat, cook banana with ¼ cup water and ¼ cup sugar until browned, about 10 minutes. Stir in a pinch of cinnamon.
Reduce heat to low. Stir in ¾ cup sugar and ¾ cup water until sugar has dissolved.
Remove from heat. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer and discard the solids. Let cool completely.
To make the daiquiri, add ice to a mixing glass. Add aged rum, lime juice and banana syrup. Stir to combine.
Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a banana slice. To caramelize, place a banana slice on a heat-proof surface. Sprinkle a pinch of granulated sugar over a banana slice and brûlée with a kitchen torch.
Notes
Store the banana simple syrup in a food-safe, airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 month.
