This iced lavender latte recipe is perfect for summer. With homemade lavender simple syrup, creamy milk and strong espresso, this fancy latte is even better than your local coffee shop!
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Do not let boil.
Remove from heat and stir in the lavender flowers. Let rest for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Leave in longer for a stronger flavor. Strain out the flowers with a fine-mesh sieve.
Store in a mason jar for up to two weeks.
Lavender Latte
Make the espresso using an espresso machine and set aside.
Add the lavender simple syrup to a 16 ounce glass. Pour the shot of espresso into the glass and stir to combine.
For an iced latte: Fill the glass with a handful of ice. Pour in the milk. Stir everything together until well incorporated and serve.
For a hot latte: Pour in the steamed milk and layer on as much froth as you like. Dust with lavender sugar or other toppings, if desired.
Notes
This latte can be made as mildly sweet or heavily sweet as you want. That's the beauty of making your own coffee drinks at home! I don't like super sweet drinks, so I preferred 1 tablespoon of syrup in my latte. A tablespoon of syrup made a mildly sweet latte, and two tablespoons made much sweeter latte, similar to Starbucks'.
