This delicious Dark Chocolate Chip Banana Bread recipe comes very moist, rich, and perfectly sweet with the irresistible taste of dark chocolate. This recipe is ideal for breakfast or a sweet snack.
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
In a large bowl, mash the bananas and stir in the melted butter. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55–65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Don't over-mix your batter! Too much stirring can affect how the bread bakes, leaving you with a tougher loaf.
The amount of chocolate chips is subjective. Use more or less depending on how chocolatey you want each bite!
Wait until your bread has cooled before you slice it so you're less likely to squish the loaf.
