Easy Simple Syrup

Every cocktail maker needs to know how to make simple syrup. It’s always a good idea to have a jar on hand to mix into cocktails, to sweeten iced tea or coffee, and to bake into desserts.

Prep Time: 10 Min

– ¾ cup granulated sugar – ¾ cup water

makes: 1 cup

Combine ingredients.


Measure your sugar and water, then combine them into a saucepan.

Heat things up.


Over medium heat, stir your sugar and water until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Remove from heat.


Remove your simple syrup from heat and let it cool. Be patient!

Transfer your syrup.


Once it is cool, pour your syrup into a glass jar and seal tightly with a lid.

Store safely.


Store in the refrigerator for up to one month as you use your simple syrup.
