Mint Simple Syrup

Mint simple syrup is key to making a number of cocktails, from mojitos to juleps. Learn how to make this easy, peppermint-infused simple syrup.

a saucepan a mason jar or bottle with a lid

Prep Time: 10 Min

3/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup water 4 mint sprigs (about 40 leaves)

makes: 2 cups

Heat water & sugar.


In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water and sugar.

Stir to dissolve.


Stir until sugar is dissolved, watching carefully so the mixture doesn't boil.

Add mint leaves.


Take the saucepan off of the stove. Add mint leaves.

Let sit.


Let your mixture rest for 15 minutes, or longer is you prefer a stronger flavor.

Discard mint leaves.


Once you've infused for the desired amount of time, remove the leaves from your syrup and discard.

Store & enjoy!


Keep your mint simple syrup for up to one week in a jar with a lid. Add to cocktails and more!
