Jalapeño-Infused Tequila

Jalapeños give off a ton of spicy, peppery flavor when they're infused in tequila. You can use it for mules, palomas, margaritas and more!

a sharp paring knife a mason jar or bottle with a lid

Prep Time: 10 Min

1 jalapeño (or other spicy pepper such as poblano or habanero) 2 cups blanco tequila 

makes: 2 cups

Chop jalapeños.

Remove stems. Discard seeds for a milder spice level. Slice thinly.

Measure tequila.

You will need 2 cups of tequila.

Combine in a jar.

Add jalapeños and cover with tequila. Set aside for at least 24 hours.

Taste often.

Use a clean spoon to sample the tequila and check the spice level. The peppers will yellow over time — this is normal.

Mix it up!

Strain out the peppers. Now your tequila is ready to mix into cocktails!

Too spicy?

Add more blanco tequila to dilute it. Not spicy enough? Infuse for more time. You may want to add another pepper.
