a large stock pot a spoon or potato masher
Prep Time: 3 hours
apples of several varieties orange lemon whole cloves cinnamon sticks
makes: 1 gallon
whole nutmeg whole star anise water brown sugar maple syrup bourbon or rum
Quarter the apples, lemon and orange. Don't worry about removing stems and seeds.
Layer fruit in a stock pot with spices and cover with water.
Bring your pot to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
Let your fruit cook on low for 2 hours.
Use a spoon or potato masher to mash your fruit. Cook on low for another hour.
Strain your fruit mixture into a pitcher to remove the seeds. Mash juices out of the fruit.
Stir in your preferred sweetener until dissolved and alcohol if desired.
Ladle into mugs and serve warm. Enjoy!
