Cinnamon Whiskey

Cinnamon whiskey fills you with the warmth of bourbon and spices. Control your spice level and ingredients when you make your own.

what you'll need

the bourbon of your choice, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves (if desired) and a vessel with a lid (I prefer mason jars).

Prep Time: 10 Min

Infusion Time: 2 days

2 cups bourbon 1-2 cinnamon sticks 1-2 whole cloves (optional)

Yields: 2 cups

Pour bourbon into jar.


You can use one 16-oz jar or two 8-oz jars, as long as they have a lid.

Add spices.


Insert cinnamon sticks and cloves. For less spice, use fewer whole spices

Store in a dark place.


Smell and taste it every 2-3 days until it reaches your preferred level of spice.

Remove whole spices.


The infused bourbon can be stored for a few months.



Your infused bourbon is great on its own or in cocktails.

Bring the heat.


More cinnamon sticks and longer infusion time will bring a fiery cinnamon taste.

Cut the spice.


If you end up with too much cinnamon, dilute with additional whiskey.
