Full of fall flavor

For the Autumn Spice Syrup 1 cup water 1 cup sugar 4 whole cloves 4 whole black peppercorns 2 cinnamon sticks 1 whole nutmeg 1 star anise 1 1-inch piece of lemon zest
makes: 1 latte
For the Latte 1/2 cup whole milk 1 tablespoon autumn spice simple syrup 1/3 cup freshly brewed espresso ground cinnamon star anise, for garnish
Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, star anise and lemon zest.
Bring your syrup to a low simmer for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
Remove zest, anise and peppercorns and store in an airtight container.
Use a saucepan over medium-low heat to warm your milk, stirring to create foam.
Brew espresso using your preferred method.
To a large latte mug add your espresso and simple syrup. Spoon foam over top.
Garnish with cinnamon and cinnamon stick or star anise if desired. Enjoy!
Add pumpkin pie spice as a garnish for a different flavor.
