Here’s my Fall Travelogue! Have a look at the things I did, ate, drank and saw over the last few months on my trips to Sacramento, Louisiana, Arkansas and Colorado.

It’s been a while since a life update, so I figured today was as good as any.
Since my last travelogue, I’ve visited four cities for work. That’s Sacramento; New Orleans; Bentonville, Ark.; and Denver. Three of four were new cities for me, so that made all of this even better.
Thankfully, work includes a little play. My coworkers love good food and drinks as much as I do, and it’s always super fun to explore new places in our downtime.
I’m writing this from the comfort of my friend Meghan’s couch in Denver, and it’s glorious to see a good friend. I’m headed home soon, and then I’ll be home for the entire holiday season with the exception of one weekend trip.
GORGEOUS PLACE I WENT:
Of all the places I’ve been lately, Bentonville, Arkansas was absolutely the most surprising. I fell in love with its fall foliage and adorable town square filled with great restaurants.
Also, I could have spent an entire day at the stunning Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
AMAZING THING I ATE:
In New Orleans I ate Red Beans & Rice every chance I got. This is one of my favorite dishes in the world, and it was so good to have it right at the source.
My friend Erin has a fantastic recipe for making Red Beans & Rice in a slow cooker that will have to tide me over until next time I’m in NOLA.
VIDEO GAME I’M ADORING:
Lately I’ve been in love with Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I never grew up playing video games so, even though this is a classic, it’s totally new for me. And it’s awesome.
DRINK I IMBIBED:
At the Denver Central Market I tried a “Fancypants” cocktail from Curio. This was a gin and champagne cocktail with little juicy passionfruit pearls that settled in the bottom. I don’t think I’ve ever drunk sparkling wine with a straw before, but it will not be the last time.
PLACE I’D LIKE TO GO:
Home. I’ve been gone for about two weeks, cumulatively, in the last couple months, and I’m just majorly ready for some normal. Plus I’m dying for another visit to Windy Hill Orchard for apple cider flights and donuts.
DISH I WANT TO MAKE:
I made these Skinny Chicken Enchiladas last month, and I’m dying to make them again. Next time I’m making a double batch, though.
THING ON MY WISHLIST:
New luggage. I have an awesome carryon suitcase that I LOVE, and I want a bigger version of it for checking because the ones I have have seen better days. I’m obsessed with how sturdy hardshell cases are. This one has my eye. If you have a favorite, let me know in the comments.
WHAT I’LL MISS ABOUT AUGUST, SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER:
All the fall things. Duh.
But fall’s not over yet. Thanksgiving is coming up and that’s my favorite holiday of all time. (Check out my Thanksgiving recipe archive for inspiration!)
Hope you have had a good fall! Comment below about something awesome you’ve done lately. I’d love to hear what you’re up to! // susannah
