Impress your friends with fancier tacos and fajitas by using these taco night essentials.
I will never say ‘no’ to a taco night out with friends. Not much is more satisfying than a really, really, really good taco. Well, except perhaps a margarita or cerveza?
But as much fun as taco trucks and Mexican restaurants are, it’s just as wonderful to make tacos at home. Lately I’ve been making tons of tacos for dinner. It all started when I bought a huge bag of corn tortillas to make spicy avocado chicken tacos for dinner for a friend. I’ve been working my way through them ever since. (Soon, I want to take a stab at making my own tortillas — something I’ve never tried.)
Having a taco night with a friend or five is so fun and easy. Start with a few of the taco night essentials below. Then, you’ll need to cook some protein (if desired) and chop up a few veggies. Maybe grate some cheese. Bonus points for making your own tortillas — I’m dying to take a stab at this recipe for homemade tortillas from my friend Stephanie at Sustaining the Powers. Serve it all up in pretty bowls and let folks fill up their own taco shells or tortillas! The messier the better. Enjoy! // susannah
