Barnraiser

Barnraiser crowd-funding site // Feast + West

Sometimes when I need inspiration for my blog or my freelance work, I turn to Kickstarter. Despite some of the weirder projects I’ve seen lately, I really enjoy seeing what cool, new things people are coming up with. I usually keep an eye on food and design projects, so I was really excited to learn about Barnraiser, a new crowd-funding site focused on food and farming.

Founded by Eileen Gordon, Barnraiser accepts projects ranging from small-batch, artisanal foods and new community kitchens to school gardens and organic farms. The site hopes to bring sustainable agriculture into the hands of people who can help. Support farmers and programs anywhere in the world by donating to their projects, and you can help grow the food movement organically. Now that’s inspiring. // susannah
