Hope everyone had a great long holiday weekend! Sadly, a dear family member passed away on Friday, so I found it difficult to enjoy the festivities. I’m in Atlanta for the funeral today, then I’ll come home for a couple days before heading out again for a wedding this weekend. I hope you’ll understand why I’ll be posting a bit less this week. This week’s Kitchen Road Trip is shorter than usual, too. Thanks for bearing with me, friends.
Anyway, on to Montana, our next stop in the Kitchen Road Trip series. I visited Montana in on a high school trip. I never would have believed it, but Montana is true to its moniker Big Sky Country. In North Carolina, we have so many trees that you never really see the whole sky until you go somewhere like Montana. I have never felt so small on this earth! I also loved learning about the Native American culture in Montana. A friend of mine recently visited Missoula, Mont. and told me of its unique blend of arts and adventure activities — I had no idea! I hope to go back someday and explore some more. // susannah
