Strawberry Lemonade Shandies // Feast + West

When planning a picnic menu, don’t forget the drinks! These strawberry lemonade shandies are such refreshing libations for a picnic.

Shandies make for a great picnic cocktail, because you can pack the beer and lemonade in a cooler to keep them chilled, then mix them on-site in cups or jars.

Some fresh, sliced strawberries from the farmers market make a great garnish or addition to a picnic cheese plate

Homemade strawberry lemonade is even better than store-bought, if you have the time beforehand!

For the beer, I recommend using a canned beer, such as Deep River’s Twisted River Wit, so you have a lesser risk of broken glass at your picnic.

A lighter beer, such as a Belgian, a Pilsner or an India Pale Ale will work best with the lemonade.
