This is the fifth post in collaboration with Katie at Twin Stripe. All week long we have shared recipes and tips for a perfect summer picnic. Be sure to check out Katie’s recipe for Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies with Sea Salt today!
These strawberry lemonade shandies were such refreshing libations at our picnic. Shandies make for a great picnic cocktail, because you can pack the beer and lemonade in a cooler to keep them chilled, then mix them on site in cups or jars. We also brought along fresh, sliced strawberries from the farmers market. We recommend using a canned beer, such as Deep River’s Twisted River Wit, so you have a lesser risk of broken glass at your picnic. A lighter beer, such as a Belgian, a Pilsner or an India Pale Ale will work the best with the lemonade. See the recipe below!
