Desktop Wallpapers // 2

It’s a good week at Feast + West! I’ve been making a few changes to the blog lately. For one, I’m super excited to have joined the Southern Blog Society, a group of bloggers in the southeastern United States. I’ve also been making a few tweaks to the design, including some new head shots of yours truly!

Today, I’m even more thrilled to share some more work from the lovely people behind the lens of those photos — my dear friends Jordan and Nicole Moering of Three Little Birds Studio. I met Jordan and Nicole in college, where we worked on the student newspaper and yearbook together. (They both worked as photographers, of course, and I was a graphic designer and editor. Some things never change!) Last fall, I attended the wedding of these two lovebirds in Asheville, N.C., and they recently started their own wedding photography business in Raleigh.

Jordan and Nicole are an incredibly talented pair, and they have very generously shared a few photos from a venture to Sunset Beach, N.C. this spring. Below, read their story behind these photos and, better yet, download all three of them as desktop wallpapers for your computer, tablet or phone!

From Nicole: “We needed to get away. We needed to sit, relax, and breathe. We found ourselves at Sunset Beach, driving on sand-lined streets with the sun setting over the coastline. This quaint town offers a slowed-down version of reality that whispers, “Go ahead, take a break. Enjoy that cup of coffee!”

“Unlike most beaches, Sunset Beach faces south which created this beautiful glow on the surrounding dunes. Jordan and I were pleasantly surprised to find we were the only ones enjoying the beaches’ soft sand and polite waves, perhaps because it was not quite tourist season yet, or maybe because the world knew we needed a little peace and quiet. Either way, we are thankful for this spot and the joy it brought us in that moment of our lives.”
