Now that summer is finally on the horizon, I’ve been thinking a lot about camping. Now, I’m not the most outdoorsy person, but I do like camping. The last camping trip I took was in college, when I went on a weekend retreat to Falls Lake with a class. A few of us stayed up late talking while watching the stars on the beach. That’s one of my fondest college memories, and writing it down now makes me long to go camping again soon.
This week’s Kitchen Road Trip takes us to Idaho. Though I’ve yet to visit the Gem State, I can’t help but think it would be a great place for hiking and s’mores. Idaho leads the country in the amount of land held by the National Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. How cool is that? Maybe one day I’ll get a chance to go camping in this gorgeous state. // susannah
