Sometimes it’s fun to think about how life could be different, what could have been — just for a little while, anyway. For example, I seriously considered going to school in Georgia, but I wound up staying in North Carolina instead. Isn’t it funny how things turn out? It’s been a few years since I’ve been to the Peach State, though, and I’m due for a return visit — maybe to Atlanta or Savannah?
Pictured above is the oak-lined road at the colonial Wormsloe Plantation near Savannah. I recognize this scene from ‘Forrest Gump,’ but it also gives me Scarlett O’Hara vibes. I enjoyed putting this week’s KRT together, perhaps because it’s the last one in my native South for a while. (I’m going alphabetically by state, remember!) // susannah
