Birthday cake shots are the best way to celebrate any birthday, no matter your (21+) age! Made with cake mix and flavored vodkas, these sprinkle-laden shooters are so much fun.
So, I have a bit of celebration coming up next week.
(I don’t want to talk about it, but spoiler alert: it’s a birthday.)
I feel like I know a lot of people born in the month of March, but evidently being born in September is way more common — or so says this amazing chart.
Anyway, chances are pretty good that you know someone with a birthday sometime, right? Right.
Well, good thing you’re here, because I have tons of birthday recipes you can make for them, any time of day or year.
Birthday cake flavored recipes
Start their birthday right with birthday cake donuts or birthday cake cinnamon rolls.
Maybe even make your own sprinkles too.
For a snack, make them birthday cake popcorn — always a hit at our house!
And then after dinner, finish the night with a birthday cake martini or a birthday cake white russian.
Or! You could make birthday cake shots.
What are birthday cake shots?
Birthday cake shots, sometimes called birthday cake shooters, are a delicious way to celebrate another trip around the sun.
They are flavored with a secret ingredient: cake mix.
Yep, you’ll need just a few spoonfuls (and you can still make cupcakes with them later if you want!).
Feel free to multiply the recipe below — it’s easy to make more than one at a time and pour into your shot glasses.
Throw the cake mix into a cocktail shaker with whipped cream vodka, cake-flavored vodka and half-and-half, then shake shake shake. Shake off the last year!
Strain the birthday cake shots into shot glasses, then top with whipped cream and sprinkles if desired.
Voilà! Now you have the perfect shot recipe to make for your birthday guest of honor. // susannah
