Happy Monday! I spent most of the weekend watching more of the Winter Olympics. The games almost make me wish there was a little more snow on the ground. I’m rooting for Team USA, of course. In international sporting events, I usually also pull for South Africa, my mother’s home country, but SA doesn’t have any athletes in Sochi. So instead, I’m also pulling for Zimbabwe’s alpine skier Luke Steyn, the nation’s first-ever athlete to compete in the Winter Olympics. It hasn’t snowed in Zimbabwe since 1960, so Steyn trained at the University of Colorado. The snowy state of Colorado also boasts 20 more athletes on Team USA, making this week’s Kitchen Road Trip even more relevant.
